| The Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) is an advanced artillery training system that utilizes 3D technology to create virtual battlefields in which all levels of personnel can train in call-for-fire missions. This immersive trainer supports basic through advanced-level training, including forward observer (FO) tasks and procedures and mission planning. It also trains Artillery with Close Air Support (CAS), Naval Gunfire, and Mortars. The CFFT training solution connects SAF with Simulated Military Equipment (SME), including the latest precision laser devices, to provide training in fire mission planning and execution. Nova Technologies is the principal first-tier subcontractor to Fidelity Technologies Corporation developing the CFFT. We were responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and integrating the software baseline used to provide the CFFT’s call-for-fire capabilities. Team Nova was responsible for integrating and testing the High-Level Architecture (HLA) internetworking tools used to link this trainer with other training systems. |
