Nova Technologies
was a key contributor in the development of the software and hardware elements which are the cornerstone for the Joint Fires Product Line.  This product line is focused on providing a single baseline to support the Forward Observer for the U.S. Army, replacing the current Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT).  Under the construct of “use the best of the available developed systems”, the Product Line allows for an integrated component set based upon the principles of scalability, modularity, interoperability, and configurability to be constructed to support FO training.  Nova Technologies performed the systems engineereing for the architecture and developed software for numerous key components within the system.  The JFPL systems are internally HLA-managed and each system internally has up to 20 federates at any given time which interchange information using HLA standards.  The overall system structure relies on the RPR-2.0 FOM leveraging the experiences gained from the SAGIS development.  The HLA standard interface adopted by the JFPL is the Real Time Infrastructure System (RTIS) which is a GOTS package from Joint Forces Command (JFCOM).
