Nova Technologies' personnel have valuable experience in the area of avionics, electronic warfare (EW), and sensors.

Avionics

Our software, systems, and test engineers worked with Rockwell Collins and Boeing to develop several block cycle updates to the AC-130U gunship Operational Flight Program (OFP). The OFP is the real-time software that controls the avionics systems, communications systems, and fire control systems of the aircraft.

We performed a study for King Aerospace to identify ways to reduce the power requirements on the E-9 telemetry relay aircraft which is used to relay range safety reports and missile telemetry information over the Gulf Range.

Nova Technologies has provided long-term support to Lockheed Martin since 1997 to develop the AC-130U Advanced Technology Demonstrator Test Bed (ATD/TB)--a full-motion, out-the-window-display simulator which will be used to train aircrew on the operation and maintenance of the AC-130U gunship aircraft. We were responsible for developing the simulation software for the primary avionics and communications systems for this simulator. As a key member of the software development team, Nova Technologies also provided expertise on the OFP (the ATD/TB uses the actual mission computers from the real aircraft and runs the official OFP from this airplane).

Electronic Warfare

Nova Technologies' provided several key personnel to define the requirements and top-level design for the EW system on the AC-130U ATD/TB simulator. We helped Lockheed Martin define the architecture for the system, establish budgetary guidelines for its development, and worked with other support contractors to define the interface between the EW system and the other key subsystems of this simulator.

Nova Technologies personnel also supported the development of an Electronic Warfare threat generator for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Our engineers developed the user interface for this flexible system, which is capable of generating dynamic threats against air-to-air missiles and various threat aircraft.

Sensors

Nova Technologies supported Lockheed Martin to develop and integrate an IR and All-Light-Level Television (ALLTV) sensor simulator into the AC-130U ATD/TB aircrew trainer. Our engineers were also responsible for integrating the Digital Radar Landmass Simulator into this trainer.

Working with SAIC and Boeing, Nova Technologies' engineers were responsible for integrating the latest generation IR sensor into the AC-130U aircraft for the Air Force Special Operations Forces.

Nova Technologies has the personnel and experience to support any project in the avionics, sensors, and electronic warfare domains. This experience includes real-time embedded systems as well as simulations of such systems.
