Nova Technologies' personnel have a wide range of experience in all aspects of instrumentation, telemetry, and data analysis. This experience is concentrated in stealth aircraft and their associated weapons systems domains, but is relevant to other similar domains as well. InstrumentationNova Technologies' engineers are well-versed in all phases of instrumentation technology. We are intimately familiar with:
We know the technical ins and outs of data receiving, recording, de-multiplexing, decrypting, and decoding. We are also adept in data reduction methods for real-time analysis, data storage, and direct computer interface for post analysis. Our systems and software engineers have working knowledge of both analog and digital signals to include MIL-STD-1553B communication and interface requirements widely used in the integration of avionic and weapon systems. Nova Technologies' personnel have been involved in all facets of instrumentation and groundstation design, development, fabrication, operation, and maintenance. Our engineers have acquired, reduced, and analyzed diverse types of information from the coefficient-of-friction and hydroplaning potential on worldwide runways to the latest United States air-to-air missile arsenal to the stealthy B-2 "Spirit" bomber. TelemetryNova Technologies has first-hand experience with several complex telemetering concepts. One of our most unique and exciting capabilities includes weapons' telemetry re-radiation from an operational stealth vehicle. Our engineers are poised to meet the increasing demand for this type of telemetry expertise in the not-so-distance future as new stealth vehicles carrying internal ordinances become operational. Missile, Range, and Airborne Relay Aircraft InstrumentationNova Technologies offers a wide range of experience in all aspects of operational testing of air-to-air missiles. From missile functional testing in the maintenance complex through launch and end-game analysis, Nova Technologies' expertise in test and development parallel any test program. Our experience centers on the AIM-9 Sidewinder, the AIM-7 Sparrow, and the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) missiles. During test, each missile is mated with a high data rate telemetry package, which transmits in-flight performance data to a groundstation. Quite often this data is also relayed through a telemetry relay aircraft for enhanced over-the-horizon coverage. Our team is uniquely experienced in the challenges of collecting and analyzing real-time data in dynamic combat-realistic scenarios. Missile Telemetry Nova Technologies' engineers are familiar with telemetry systems used with both radar and heat-seeking missiles. A recent addition to our team provides our customers with an extensive background in both the Warhead Replacement Tactical Telemetry Module (WRTTM) and the Airborne Instrumentation Unit (AIU), two very different methodologies for collecting AMRAAM live-fire data. Finally, our team of prior-military technicians and engineers provide invaluable in-the-field experience associated with the intricacies of the encrypted telemetry systems required for today's advanced weapons systems testing. Telemetry Relay AircraftThe E-9A Airborne Platform/Telemetry Relay Aircraft functions as an integral part of the Gulf Range Complex for Air Force air-to-air missile firing missions conducted over Gulf of Mexico ranges. The E-9A serves as an airborne platform for the hardware to capture, record, and relay mission communications and telemetry data. We recognize the challenges involved in designing and maintaining an airborne relay station and have developed proposals for the AF for next-generation improvements. Target Control SystemsBoth the Tyndall and Eglin AFB, FL test communities rely heavily on a host of sub-scale and full-scale targets, each of which are controlled through Gulf Range Drone Control System (GRDCS) transponder-based tracking systems. Nova Technologies' engineers have participated at varying levels in the development of GRDCS upgrades. We have also provided technical and engineering expertise to program managers for next-generation GPS-based solutions such as the Multi-Service Target Control System (MSTCS), the Joint Advanced Missile Instrumentation (JAMI), the Translated GPS Range System (TGRS), and the Test Range System of Systems (TRSoS) programs. Our comprehensive background in data collection and analysis techniques combined with our extensive experience in instrumentation technology (i.e., missile, target, range, and airborne relay), and augmented with our innovative re-radiation concepts makes Nova Technologies the number one choice to support any test program. Data AnalysisNova Technologies' engineers possess several decades of practical know-how in data handling and analysis to include computer hardware, software, database, and modeling design and maintenance. Our personnel have evaluated the "Whole Weapons System" concept--a concept that comprises weapon, aircraft, and aircrew on thousands of air-to-air missile live-firings. We also have extensive experience in pilotless drone target operation and range safety. To round out Nova Technologies' analysis repertoire, our engineers were major contributors to the development and day-to-day operations of the B-2 Bomber's operational test and evaluation computer-based ground processing unit and associated software, tools, and databases. Nova Technologies has the personnel and experience to support any project in the instrumentation, telemetry, and analysis arena. If you have a requirement to "measure from afar" and "evaluate your measurements", Nova Technologies has your solution. |
