AVCATT & Flight School XXI

Nova Technologies is providing engineering support to L3 Communications in several areas to include the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) and the Flight School XXI programs. The Flight School XXI program provides the US Army with the world’s largest simulation facility used for initial and upgrade training of helicopter pilots at Fort Rucker, AL. The Warrior Hall facility in Daleville, AL (just outside the Ft Rucker gate) is capable of holding 40 high-fidelity flight simulators, 32 of which have now been activated as part of the initial phase of the Flight School XXI program. Nova Technologies is providing engineering support to L-3 Communications in several areas of Flight School XXI at Fort Rucker, AL. The UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, and AH-64A Apache flight training devices at this facility are used to train new Army pilots to fly these three types of aircraft. Nova Technologies supported the design, development, integration, and test of these systems with L3 Communications Link Simulation and Training. As part of this development, we integrated after-action review stations that are now being used to replay training missions soon after each flight training session. These facilities enable the student pilots to re-enact each situation they faced in the cockpit and permit the instructor to provide immediate feedback on the student’s performance.
